Introduction
Yoga is a part of ancient Indian Culture traced back to the Vedic period. Later, its importance was highlighted in Upanishad, Bhagavad Geeta, and by different scholars. During Krutha ugam as per the orthodox system of Indian philosophy, people had one goal in life -- the liberation of the soul through perfection to unite with Bramham or Supreme God. People also believed yoga practice was a means to get rid of their sins and reach Heaven/ Swargam after death for which there is no rebirth. To reach their goal, People with spiritual minds practice one of the five systems of yoga. They are Bhakti yoga, Karma yoga, Gnana yoga, and Raja yoga which is mind oriented activities. Whereas the content of Hatha yoga has a message for the body, mind, and soul. In Hatha yoga one needs to go through eight steps intensively in a progressive manner to reach their goal. They are Yamas, Niyamas, Asanas, Pranayama, Prathyahar, Dharana, Dhyan, and Samadhi.
